The Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Southern and Western Europe is kindly requesting your support for the purchase of a future Romanian monastery in the heart of Ireland:
Dear all,
This is an appeal to your generosity and goodwill, kindly requesting your support for the purchase of a future monastery, which will be established in Ireland with the blessing of His Eminence Joseph, Metropolitan of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Southern and Western Europe.
The monastery will be dedicated to the Mother of God and its main feast will be “The Life-Giving Spring”.
The property is located in the very heart of Ireland, in Shannonbridge, just a few kilometres away from the well-known monastic site (6th c.) of St. Ciaran of Clonmacnoise, in a land that was scattered with monasteries and sanctified by the ascetic labours of monks in the first Christian millenium. The place we want to buy has already been an oasis of prayer, as it was a retreat centre belonging to a Catholic religious community.
Our appeal is all the more urgent and necessary as we are trying to buy the property as soon as possible. As nothing is impossible with God, and as God works through people, please, could you become collaborators in this undertaking, be co-workers with God and with us founding the monastery to the glory of God and to the honour of the Mother of God and the Celtic saints of Ireland, who, let us not forget, did a great deal for Europe in the first ten centuries. We think it is about time we remembered them and knotted our loving relationship with them, as, isn’t that so, ‘God is wondrous in His saints’.
Even if you cannot immediately help, please join us in prayer, this is a very precious help that can work wonders and without which we cannot achieve anything.
We are hoping that this cry for help might touch your hearts and meet God there, and may the Lord be the One that ‘will fight’ for us all, whose work we’ve seen and we feel.
We accept with deep gratitude any contribution that comes from a compassionate and sincere heart, willing to render glory to God. And may the God of mercy reward you abundantly for your self-sacrificing generosity.
