The Department of Charity and Social Ministry of the Philippines-Vietnamese diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church began to provide humanitarian assistance to poor families in the city of Bacoor, located ten kilometers from the capital of the Philippines, Manila.
The department staff also train local volunteers in the basics of children’s nutrition and hygiene.
As the diocesan website reports, since Bacoor residents know about the Russian Church and there are many who want to join it, in the future it is possible a new parish of the Moscow Patriarchate will open there.
