On January 28, His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, officiated the Divine Liturgy for children at Christ the Savior Cathedral. Afterward, he met with large families and families of servicemen who died in the line of duty.

Present at the service were students of Sunday schools, families of priests, and also large families from different dioceses. During the liturgy, a consolidated children’s choir was singing, which consisted of fourteen choirs from temples in Astrakhan, Moscow, Vienna, Elista and others. Children also helped the Patriarch as altar boys during the service.

The Russian News Agency reported that after the divine service, His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill, met with large families and families of servicemen who died in the line of duty, and gave them presents.

Addressing the mothers, the Patriarch said, “You are conducting the primary ministry.”

His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill, mentioned that sometimes women pursue a career. They work, do researches and enter politics. He pointed out that all of it was crucial. “However, there is nothing more important than motherhood, because our future depends on it literally. What our country, people and our Church will become depend on it,” he stressed.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
