The most trusted institutions are the Church (68%), the Academy of Sciences (40%), local authorities (39%), the army (37%), mass media (35%), nongovernmental organizations (32%), the police (26%), trade unions (23%), the banking system (20%) and the justice system (19%). The Moldovans placed the least trust in government (16%), political parties (13%), the president and parliament (12%).
The poll was conducted among over 1,100 residents in 75 populated areas on May 10-18.
