Head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion believes the ISIS (banned in Russia – IF) ideas live until there are people who stick to these views.
“We have eliminated the ISIS territorially, but people remained and spread around the world as rats, they organized sleeping cells, but these sleeping cells remind of themselves in many countries, including Russia,” he said at a session of the Council for International Cooperation with Religious Organizations under the Russian President.
The hierarch expressed his concern over the fact that children living in the risk zone of recruiting to radical Islam organizations in Syria today, do not have an opportunity to go to school and receive education and without education they can easily fall victims to recruiters.
