A political crisis is taking place in Belarus. In this difficult period for our fraternal people, various figures raise their voices in our country, supporting one of the opposing parties and giving their assessments, which are sometimes peremptory, and giving their loud and sometimes inappropriate advice.
It seems to me that it is now time for us to keep silence. It is time to be silent not merely because the situation is far from harmony and peace in our own country, but simply because believers should not participate in someone else’s conflict, and even more so aggravate it, even with their best intentions.
The only and most significant thing we can do now is to pray for our Belarusian brothers, to ask the Lord not to allow an increase in hatred and anger, not to allow an increase in the conflict, and not to allow bloodshed.
May the Lord preserve Belarus, its pious people and the Church, and have mercy on all of us!
