His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia extended condolences to Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Republic of Pakistan, over the terrorist attack in Lahore that had claimed lives of dozens of people.

His Excellency Mr. Nawaz SHARIF

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Your Excellency,

Dear Mr. Prime Minister:

It was with profound grief that I learned about the appalling terrorist attack in Lahore that killed and injured many people, including women and children. Please accept my deep condolences.

I request you to convey my consolation and words of support to all those who lost in this terrible tragedy their loved ones and friends. I wish the soonest recovery to the injured, and to the people of Pakistan – the endurance and courage in this trial. I express my sincere compassion to the Christian communities whose members fell victim to the awesome atrocity on the day when many believers in the world were celebrating Holy Easter.

I ask you to do anything possible to defend the residents of your country, including Christians, from any encroach on their life and strictly observe the right of every human person to freedom of religious belief.

I hope that the authorities of Pakistan will undertake special measures to combat terrorism. It is possible to stop it only by common efforts of the state and religious leaders and of all people of good will.

With deep condolences,

/+KIRILL/

PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
