His Grace Bishop Antonie celebrated on Monday three years since the re-establishment of the Balti Diocese and seven years of episcopal ministry.
The Bishop of Bălți celebrated the Divine Liturgy and a Te Deum service at the “Nativity of the Lord” Church in Bălți.
He described the re-establishment of the diocese as an act of justice and thanked everyone for their support of the pastoral-missionary and cultural-philanthropic activity of the diocese.
“In order for justice and truth to triumph definitively, we have to recover the cathedral and the episcopal residence, built by the first bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church who pastored in Bălți, Visarion Puiu of blessed memory. And we will recover them because they are ours,” Bishop Antonie stressed May 24, 2021.
The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church elected Assistant Bishop Antonie of Orhei as diocesan bishop of Bălți on May 24, 2018.
Thus, after 74 years, he was elected the fourth canonical bishop of Bălți.
