“Spreading of drug and alcohol abuse in society becomes a great tragedy for many families. Unfortunately, advertisement of alcoholic production is still present in the media space. There are attempts to lobby its extension and it is explained with the care for increasing circulation of magazines and newspapers,” the patriarch said on Friday at the 4th Christmas Parliamentary meetings at the Federation Council.
He called worthy legislative initiatives aimed at further restriction or full ban on advertising products destroying human health.
“Sale of various new drugs is growing in threatening scales. Great number of young people using smoking blends or spices get used to them and then start using drugs and are subjected to hardest addiction,” the primate said.
He is convinced that this situation should be settled both at legislative and law application level.
According to the primate, not only the health of the nation, but also “the very existence of our people and state” depends on the question.
