“People are seeking justice, ultimate meanings, a new world order. We need to allow them to do what they want peacefully, legitimately but very straightforwardly. We must bring these people together. Here, in Russia, we must realize the best ideals of the Holy Rus, the caliphate, the USSR, i.e. those systems which challenge the injustice and diktat of narrow elites over the will of peoples,” the priest said during hearings in the Russian Public Chamber on Tuesday.
“If we can live up to the most intimate and daring dreams of people across the world, then we have neither terrorism, nor extremism to fear. Ideologically, spiritually and morally, we will be stronger than any evil force,” he said.
Terrorism should be fought with force, this is an evil “that you won’t exterminate by persuasion, tolerance, reconciliation, pacifism or defeatism,” the priest said. However, force alone is not enough since “even the strongest armies and intelligence services will be unable to defeat the threat when it has conquered people’s hearts and minds,” the priest said.
Some people join Islamic State, a terrorist organization banned in Russia, in a quest for justice and a global mission, but “get deceived,” and end up “in awfully deadly dirty hands,” the priest said.
“We, Russia, need the best people who want to change the world to come to us, unite with us in various countries, and perhaps, come here to work with us together,” he said.
