November 12, 2014. With the blessing of His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, an International Gathering of the Orthodox Youth organized by the Synodal Youth Department will take place in Moscow on November 18-19, 2014.

The Patriarchia.ru website has reported that several thousand people, including 1,200 delegates from the regions of Russia and abroad, will take part in this major event.

Among the delegates will be people responsible for youth work in the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, leaders of the youth and social unions, experts in the most significant social, religious, and political issues, and also invited guests.

Plenipotentiary envoys of the President of the Russian Federation and the Agency of Strategic Initiatives (ASI) take an active part in inviting the delegates and arranging the program of the gathering.

The event is aimed at giving Orthodox young people an opportunity to identify a range of issues which the youth face in a dialog with each other and authoritative political and social figures of the country and to find a solution together, which will enable the young generation to foster moral values in their lives. In addition, the participants will discuss questions on the creation of a united international Orthodox youth association.

A plenary meeting of the International Orthodox Youth Gathering discussing prime development strategies of the youth policy will be held at the Church Council Hall at the Christ the Savior Cathedral on November 19. It will be chaired by Bishop Ignaty of Vyborg and Priozersk, Chairman of the Synodal Youth Department. The participants of the gathering will participate in meetings on various topics during the forum, at the end of which final documents will be produced.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
