The Patriarch noted that the example of the Mother of God, as well as the examples of many saints –is “the immortal ideal for every citizen who is conscious of his Christian life”.
He stressed that the humility which the Theotokos had to her last earthly days, today should be fundamental to the life of every believer. “A humble person always carries within a constant happiness, regardless of his surrounding life conditions, his position, and always has joy in his heart, because God is with him, and God’s grace is the fullness of life”, quoted his Holiness RIA Novosti.
“A society in which people live by the law of Christ, a society that consists of those who are primarily focused not on themselves, but on doing good to those around them<…> such a society has always been the ideal, including for those who took up arms in order to build this society through revolutions. No revolutions are needed. The most important revolutions must be made inside oneself – a reformation of one’s conscious and system of values in order to obtain God, so that the Lord will enter our purified inner world of the soul and bestow upon us the great power of His presence”, noted the Patriarch.
